What happens to the skin as it ages?
As
we age, the skin loses collagen, fat and Hyaluronic acid. This causes the skin
to sag and develop lines and wrinkles.
Hyaluronic acid plays a vital part in skin care by keeping the skin firm
and elastic. It deeply moisturises the skin, promoting collagen production,
which improves skin beauty and revitalises it. It also acts as an anti-oxidant
and protects the skin from damaging free-radical molecules. This all slows down
the skin aging process, helps repair sun damaged skin, and promotes skin
beauty.
How does the IAL system rejuvenate the skin?
The
revolutionary IAL system is a long-term medical-cosmetic treatment. The IAL
system is a long-term treatment to hydrate and improve the skin quality.
Benefits are seen after weeks not days.
IAL
is a non-animal based hyaluronic acid based gel which is injected into the skin
via a very fine needle. Using a crisscross pattern of small injections (the
matrix technique) the IAL system can smoothly distribute itself across a large
area of skin.
Where can IAL be used?
·
Forehead/Brow
lines
– difficult and deep forehead and nasal lines can be pre-treated with the IAL
system to enhance the effects of further treatments such as Botox© or dermal
fillers. Rather like applying a good foundation base before your makeup.
·
Eyes/Mouth – using a
series of small injections, fine lines around the mouth and eyes can be
improved.
Face/Neck/Décolleté/Backs
of the Hands – using a micropuncture technique, damaged skin in these areas can
be revitalised.
·
Damaged skin
repair programmes
Personalised programmes can be designed for each client depending
on their skin condition and how deeply it is damaged. This will be discussed in
your initial consultation along with your background medical history. I may
recommend complimentary or alternative treatments such as Botox© or dermal
fillers if appropriate.
With the IAL system it is recommended that 2 or 3 skin repair treatments
be carried out every 10-14 days initially with maintenance treatments every 3
months.
A fast repair programme may suit clients that have damaged skin
due to excess sun exposure or have had aggressive chemical peels or other
damaging beauty products. This would involve 2 treatments 14 days apart.
Does IAL have any side effects?
There may be some transient redness at the injection sites which
will fade over a few hours. The skin around the injection site may look paler
than the rest of the skin as the IAL system distributes itself through the
dermis, this will settle after a few days. There is a very low risk of allergic
reaction (1 in 200 patients).
Can anyone use the IAL skin repair system?
It
is not recommended if you are pregnant or breast-feeding; otherwise there are
no contraindications except previous allergies to hyaluronic acid injections.
